Text Box: The Triumphal Arch was built in 1922 from wood and it was rebuild over between 1935-1936 in concrete and granite by architect Petre Antonescu. The monument is in honor of the heroism of the Romanian army demonstrated during World War I. 
Text Box: The old National Theatre was next to Telephone Palace.  Bombed out during the air-raid of August 24th 1944. The actual National Theatre was built over 1967-1970. International Hotel was built in 1970 by a group of 23 Romanian architects, with 400 rooms, restaurants, swiming pool, casino, garages.

Text Box: The National Theatre was built between 1894-1896, according to the plans of the Viennese architects Viennois Helmer and Fellner. They also made the project of an electric factory which ensures even in the present the heating of the theatre. In 1956, the theatre receives the name of the poet Vasile Alecsandri. The building also shelters Romanian Opera.
