Format for English 101 Papers

• All formal papers and paragraphs are to be prepared on a computer and printed in MS Word. (If you use another word processing program outside of class, you must convert your files to the version of MS Word currently used on the MHC campus.)
• Double space.
• Use Times New Roman, 12-pt.
• Set conventional margins (usually default).
• Put your last name and the page number in the upper right corner, using the automatic header feature in Word: "View," "Header and footer," etc.
• Save each assignment with a very clear and distinct file name (sometimes to be provided).
• Type the following information in the upper left corner, always double spaced:

• Your name
• The teacher's name: Prof. Kinnamon (or Dr. Kinnamon)
• Course and section number: English 101.4 (or 13, etc.: insert the appropriate section number).
• Due date (and date of submission if, in rare cases, they are different), day of month first.
