Peer Review of Two Paragraphs

• Read a classmate's paragraphs carefully.

• On a separate sheet of paper, use the computer to make a series of comments on the paragraphs.

• Comment on at least two strengths of the paragraphs.

• Comment also on any problems you find in the paragraphs, particularly with regard to the following categories:

  • Paragraph structure: Is there a topic sentence with a clear main idea, for instance?

  • Paragraph development: Are there adequate examples and details? If not, indicate where the problems are.

  • Sentence structure, spelling, and other problem areas.
