Review Exercises: Punctuation and Spelling

In groups of two or three, compose examples of sentences, some with faults, in the following categories. Then exchange your work with that prepared by another group. Finally, check the sentences composed by the students in the other group and report to that group by correcting any errors your find, either intentional or unintentional.

1. Simple sentence--with either a "compound" subject or a "compound" predicate verb (the subjects must have the save predicate verb, and vice versa).

7. Sentence containing the possessive form of the pronoun "you."

8. Sentence containing the possessive form of the pronoun "it."

9. Sentence containing a contraction based on "they."
