Self-Review of Paragraphs: Verb Forms
-
Read over the paragraph you brought
to class today for revision, and look for predicate verbs (preferably at least five).
-
List each verb, along with its subject.
-
Then indicate to the right of each verb:
-
its person (first,
second, third),
-
its number (singular or plural),
-
its tense (at least whether it is
generally present or past)
-
Also look for any possible errors,
especially in the use of verb forms. Check also to see whether you have any
"disagreement" between subjects and verbs: e.g., "Arnold like
his new car," which should be either "Arnold likes his new
car" or "Arnold liked his new car." If you find anything that
needs to be corrected, do that in your electronic copy.
